I need photo taking tips with VERY dark thread!!

While at Tat Days, Katharine Buckner suggested a "Grackle" colorway.  Something that would resemble the iridescent colors of the grackle bird, with colors of navy, dark teal and dark purple.
Well, I finally got around to it, and it looks really pretty!  In fact, in darker light, it looks almost black, but then in the light, it's so pretty, mostly navy blue, but with purple and teal occasionally.  (I did it as a Messy Jess!-y)
Here are the not so great pictures that I've come up with so far:

Frustrating, right??

I have listed this thread, so if you trust me that it's prettier than these pictures, I invite you to purchase some while I try to get a better picture. :o)

  1. pretty colorway, but Sorry, picture taking for me is basically point and shoot and hope it turns out. and the gal here in the office who is a good photographer has left for the day. I better get back to work so I can go home too.

    1. I will definitely try, but I do try to get out as much as I can when I'm out of school. Maybe I could dye some, and then just wait to reveal them. Then, I would have some to reveal once school starts back up :o)

  4. I have had troubles getting good pictures of certain colors too. The only suggestion from here is to not give up. :)

  5. Happy birthday!! I hope you can get a good shot of your thread, it's a shame not to show its real glory. It certainly sounds wonderful.
