Exploring my Bead-ability

First off, Thank you for all the wonderful comments yesterday!  They helped with my stress level.

Since Livi decided that she wanted to give away the other bookmark, I have decided to make myself one.

So as you might be able to tell, I am exploring my bead options.  I actually threaded these onto the shuttles, and I am attempting the make all the places that have beads to have them in a 4 bead diamond shape.

The beads on the chains on the bottom have 3 beads because when I do the other side, I plan to add the fourth bead on the core thread just like the there is one bead on the core thread on this chain.
Does that make sense?

Has anyone tried that before?
I really don't even know if it'll work.
I'm going to find out though :o)

Also, I meant make this only 4 "eyes" long, but I accidentally made another joining ring on the top.... and then I was going to do just 5 "eyes"...
As you see, I forgot yet again to make an end clover up top,
so I guess this bookmark will be at least 6 "eyes" long.

  1. Your bookmark looks so pretty with the beads! There's nothing wrong with it being six eyes long... it will just work better with a longer book!

  3. It's a wonderful bookmark.
I guess up to the point the only tatted bookmarks I was familiar with were cross-shaped ones that some people have in their Bibles. I made one several decades ago.
    I love yours.
I'm thinking that if I make one, it will still be for my Bible since so many of my books are on Kindle these days. (Yes, I love being able to carry my library with me!)

  6. That is a very pretty bookmark. and good for you with the beads. I don't see why adding the 4th bead on the connecting chain wouldn't work, but then I haven't done it either. The joining threads will be between the beads and might show, or might not.

he he, too funny that you can't stop at just 4.

  7. Lovely pattern, not tried the beads that way so I hope it works, There's nothing wrong with it being just a little longer, some poeple like than a bit longer than others.
