Happy Anniversary to me, and a little giveaway to celebrate!

SO!!  I was thinking the other day that I really wished that I knew the day that I started tatting.

So, I thought real hard as to what I was doing while I was trying to teach myself.  Then it hit me... I was watching Lemonade Mouth, because it had come in the mail.  So, I went Amazon, searched my old orders...
and it arrived at my house on May 28th, but it was most likely the 29th that I actually watched it, since we had also order Gnomeo and Juliet.

So, woo hoo!

I've been tatting for a whole year now!

So in celebration, how about a giveaway?
To enter: leave a comment on this post with a color suggestion for a future Tat-ilicious colorway and a name for that colorway.
PLEASE make sure that you either leave your email address in the post if it is not posted on your profile.  If you don't want to go public with your email address, then feel free to email me after you have posted your entry.  I love chatting through email anyway. :o) I can be somewhat of a "last word freak" (unintentionally of course)... so feel free to not respond to me if I keep emailing you back.
What's the prize?
at least one skein of your colorway idea (or at least as close I can get to it) (in a size of 20, 40, 60, or 80... your choice)
plus more Tat-ilicious HDT (it will be a surprise as to how many... as I don't know yet) (specifics will probably heavily depend on your size preference)
and maybe some beads, that I feel coordinate with the thread/s. :o)

Good Luck!

***OH YEA: I'll chose a random winner on Friday June 8th  Hopefully we can get a few entries between now and then :o)

And also, remember, I won't be replying to any of the comments, unless its through email.  But that's only so I don't confuse myself when it comes to number the comments.

  1. Actually, I think you've come pretty close to some of my favorite colors already.
I think it would be so wonderful to have teals and violets like I have in my quilt on this post:

I think it is wonderful that you can remember when you started tatting. (After years of failed attempts, I ran across a book in a book store that actually explained the hows and whys and went home and began tatting---I think that might have been somewhere around 1977!) Have taught countless other how to tat since then!

  2. I've always thought a ball of thread which was baby blue and baby pink would be SO useful! - for booties and bibs and things which you could work on even before the baby arrived. You could call it "Expectantly Yours".

  3. I would love love love to see a thread similar to the color of your blog background, a light ecru, light salmon and dark salmon... i can't find one like that anywhere.... not pink, not red, not even peach, just salmon... I think it would be beautiful, and I would love to make something with it.

    Happy one year anniversary :D!!

You can always find my email on my blog any time X

  5. Congratulations on your Tataversary. You amaze me, I never would have guessed you'd only been tatting a year.

The blues and greens of the Austrial Opal are stunning together.

Another one but I'm not sure how it would look in thread (but is my favorite of these 2), is the soft whites and grays along with the gentle pinks, blues and greens of "mother of pearl". It is another ultra beautiful color combination.

I knew the color ways I wanted to submit, but it was fun looking for examples.... I drooled over alot fo things I couldn't imagine owning.

  9. I was thinking that one that had little bits of color on a white or cream color thread and call it Confetti so that the items tatted would have speckles of color here and there and it would be great for tatted kids items. :)
    Have an awesome day!!

  17. Happy Tatting Anniversary!!! My 1st year anniv. fell in February...it was kind of cool to hit that 1 year mark :-) A suggestion on color...hmmm...lots of really great ones already suggested that are making me want a LOT more thread!!! But I'll go with this...my favorite rose in my garden is called Tuscan Sun...it has shades of peach that start out sort of a deep apricot and fade to a pale pink shade and gold in the center. I would love to have thread that looked like this rose, and I think it would make a gorgeously vibrant, stunning thread. 18. How fun!

Congratulations on one year tatting and on your blooming thread dyeing business. I admire you!

I just love *all* of the suggestions you got - chocolate one being the top, if you want a vote...

But if you want a new suggestion, how about deep orange fading to dark golden yellow, with specks of reddish brown? Not sure how feasible that is to make, but you woudl call it "Tiger Lily"- like this: http://www.articarts.com/files/wildflowers_068sm.jpg

  19. Congrats on your tataversary. I would like to see a cherry blossom (dark pink to lite pink) or a pink dogwood (dark mauvy pink, med mauvy pink to white).

  20. Congratulations on your blog anniversary, first of all. I've never used HDT for tatting but would love to try some. I think a thread that looked like all the colors of metal would be cool, like silver, gold, copper, pewter and platinum. Something like that.

  21. Congratulations on your Tataversary. My color suggestion would be "Young Hearts" using colors in a picture that my husband took. I'm emailing it to you. It is two young Bedouin venders in Sinai on the Red Sea. They and their wares are full of beautiful color. Karen in OR

Hmmmm maybe it's just because I'm starving right now and craving it badly, but how about a rhubarb pie or fruit pie colourway? With golden browns and jammy pinks, berries, grapes and peaches? Sounds delicious to me!
