I was running out of purple thread so, instead of making the ring with purple and direct tatting the yellow... I rolled the dice and made the ring thread yellow.... and guess what!! It friggin broke!! :o(
Frustrating right?
I am contemplating just cutting the whole row off and starting again... with different colors!! This is not just because of the thread breakage malfunction. I actually feel like these colors are not the colors that I envisioned when I started this row.
This is how the colors would look without all the crazy frustrating out of place stitches. This really needs to be blocked though.
On a brighter note.... I finished Frivole's Flower Quatrain Bookmark in "Graced"
Isn't it pretty?
I love the yellow, but if the thread kept breaking on me, it would be gone! Love the bookmark!
ReplyDeleteYea, I thought about scrapping it so many times. But, I knew if if I had to restart this row again, I would just lose my temper and give up on the whole thing. Of course, now I'm thinking about still scrapping the whole row which means that it probably would have been okay to scrap it earlier.... go figure. lol
DeleteI hear your frustration here in Georgia. On the other hand, the doily is looking nice with the colors you have chosen. Phyllis
ReplyDeleteI like the colors. What kind of thread were you using that kept breaking?
ReplyDeleteIt's Lizbeth. I've never had Lizbeth do this to me. It was okay if I used extremely light tension, but that got really annoying. I don't know if it's just this color and I don't mix, or it's just a "bad ball"
DeleteI would totally ask for a replacement! Lizbeth is NOT supposed to do that.
DeleteEven with all the problems your doily is bright and beautiful!!! :)
ReplyDeleteAnd that Flowering Quatrain bookmark is precious and beautiful just as I thought!!
I fell your pain, so so frustrating. Surprised that the Lizbeth thread kept breaking, so unlucky. The bookmark though is so pretty. Must have a go at making it.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty with the beads Jess! I love your quatrain in "Graced" colours.
ReplyDeleteThere aren't ones when tatting just does not do what you want it, I can understand your frustration, well done for keeping going.
ReplyDeleteLovely bookmark it's a great pattern and one of my favourites.
